On Friday 19th May Witchford Village College hosted the annual East Cambs Quicksticks competition. This adapted game of Hockey involves a squad of 6 players (3 girls and 3 boys), it is a fast and exciting small sided version of the game.
There were 20 teams in all and the teams were split into two pools for a round robin competition. When everyone had played the teams finishing top played for the Gold and Silver medals, while teams finishing 2nd in their pool played for bronze.
Once the pool games had been completed, Little Thetford had won their pool and were the highest scoring team in the competition which meant we qualified for the gold medal winning match. In the final we played against Kennett and were able to win a hard fought match 2-1 which meant we were the competition winners!
A fantastic achievement for one of the smallest schools in the competition!
